Honey Soy Glazed Salmon with Sesame Bok Choy
Tender salmon fillets lacquered in a sweet and savory honey soy glaze, served alongside wilted sesame bok choy for a complete weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 4 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Cooked jasmine rice for serving
Instructions
- 1
Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl to make the glaze.
- 2
Pat salmon fillets dry and season with a little black pepper. No extra salt is needed given the soy sauce.
- 3
Heat vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side up and sear for 3 minutes until golden.
- 4
Flip salmon, pour glaze over fillets, and transfer pan to a 400°F oven. Roast for 6-8 minutes until salmon is just cooked through and the glaze is sticky.
- 5
While salmon roasts, heat a separate pan over high heat with a splash of oil. Add bok choy cut-side down and cook for 2 minutes. Add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 2 more minutes.
- 6
Season bok choy with a drizzle of sesame oil and a pinch of salt.
- 7
Serve salmon over jasmine rice with the bok choy alongside. Spoon any remaining pan glaze over the top and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
