Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (day-old), cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • For the caramel: 1 cup sugar, 6 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 teaspoon sea salt
