Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 green onions, very thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, honey, water, and sriracha in a bowl.

  2. 2

Whisk vigorously until the miso is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

Taste and adjust: more vinegar for tartness, more honey for sweetness, more sriracha for heat.

  4. 4

Transfer to a serving bowl or jar. Stir in sesame seeds and green onions.

  5. 5

This sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 weeks — the flavors develop beautifully over time.
